The purpose of this Fund shall be to provide financial support to individuals, families and organizations seeking or providing education, counseling or other activities relating to the creation of Blended Families. A Blended Family shall be defined as the resulting family unit or potential family, created after the divorce and remarriage or pending remarriage of individuals with children. These services shall include but are not limited to pre-marital counseling, bonding opportunities, financial counseling, conflict resolution, child support enforcement and other activities that will help create a healthy family environment. A criteria and application will be developed that will provide guidance to the Community Foundation of Carroll County, Inc. for making distributions from the fund.

The purpose of this Fund is to provide funding for the programs, of the Taneytown Community Center in Taneytown, Maryland.

The purpose of this Fund shall be to provide financial assistance to families in Carroll County, Maryland dealing with the catastrophic illness or injury of a member of the family, as the result of accident, fire or natural or man made disaster.

A community driven campaign to support 2 year old Mack Demetrakis and his family with the financial and emotional weight of Leukemia treatment, a bone marrow transplant, and the ongoing medical needs they face. A Community of Compassion Fund.

Brantley was diagnosed with B-cell All Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on August 12, 2020. After 2 weeks of fever and ear infection that was not going away we finally demanded blood work. When the pediatrician called the next morning they told us to immediately go to Hopkins. My husband holds the insurance and had to continue working. I had to quit my job to be a full time caregiver to my son. The first month of treatment we remained inpatient at John’s Hopkins because his counts were not good. Also during that first month, Brantley developed bi-lateral kidney stones. He had to have emergency surgery to put stints in his ureters to bypass the stones. He has to have several surgeries to remove the stones and stints one ureter at a time.

This Community of Compassion Fund was established to raise money for the Hirschmann Family to help them through their time in need. They recently had a house fire and need the help of the community.

Jesse’s Journey is a Community of Compassion Fund to raise money for baby Jesse who had been in the UMD Children’s hospital PICU and had seven surgeries. Money raised will help with the family’s expenses.

The purpose of this Fund shall be to support the activities of the Community Services Council of Carroll County, Inc., which include, but are not limited to, identifying and advocating to meet the gaps in community services needs; strengthening community service provider ties with the community, government, and the media; educating members and other agencies, as well as the community, regarding community services; and recognizing employees of human service organizations within the county for their outstanding service to the community through the annual Sylvia V. Canon Humanitarian Award.

The purpose of the Corbit’s Charge Fund is to provide financial support for the annual commemoration of Corbit’s Charge, (sometimes known as the Battle of Westminster), the Encampment and Historic Reenactment at Westminster and the related activities of the event which provide educational, recreational and entertainment to the public.

The Distinguished Young Women (DYW) Maryland At-Large is a FREE scholarship program located in Frederick, MD, and open to all high school girls in their junior year who reside in Maryland. The DYW MD At-Large is a local preliminary to the DYW of Maryland state program and the Distinguished Young Women of America National Programs.

Our mission is to inspire young women to develop their full, individual potential through a fun, transformative experience that culminates in a celebratory showcase of their accomplishments. Through free life skills workshops and in-kind tuition and cash scholarship awards, the Distinguished Young Women program strives to give every young woman the opportunity to further her education and prepare for a successful future. The purpose of this Fund is to honor the life of Douglas E. Metz. In memory of an amazing and generous man who cared deeply about education, the Douglas E. Metz Camp Thrive Foundation seeks to ensure that Carroll County, school-age children who have been potentially impacted by substance addiction have the opportunity to come together in a healthy, non-threatening environment to interact with counselors, law enforcement personnel, and similarly situated students in a fun, but structured environment that allows for healing–helping to provide a path for these students to move forward on a positive basis.

The purpose of the Drug Treatment Court Development Fund is to provide funding for the Drug Treatment Court for the Circuit Court for Carroll County (DTC); and more specifically, funding for goods and services that enhance the DTC and/or its ability to perform its mission, provided, that such requests shall only be for items which are not provided in the State budget for the DTC. Examples of items which enhance the DTC’s ability to perform its mission may include, but are not limited to: (a) requests which assist the DTC to reduce substance abuse dependency in the community and among the DTC participants and DTC graduates; and (b) requests which assist the DTC to provide social and support services in the community for participants that improve treatment outcomes and quality of life for DTC participants and DTC graduates, including but not limited to such programs that provides services for housing, vocational training, medical/dental services, education, family support services…; and (c) requests that assist the DTC to provide more effective court supervision/monitoring of participants’ behavior and recovery while in the DTC program.

Eden Outpost is a Christ-based outreach program. Our mission is healing, restoration and wholeness. We provide men, women, youth, children, and marriage gatherings, teachings, and events. We believe that when we are transformed into the image and likeness of Christ, that transformation restores and strengthens marriages, families, churches and community.
