The purpose of the GERMAN SHEPHERD DOG CLUB OF GREATER WASHINGTON AND MARYLAND is to:
– To encourage and promote the breeding of pure bred German Shepard dogs and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection.
– To urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by the American Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which German Shepherd Dogs shall be judged.
– To do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog shows and obedience trials and to demonstrate to the public the ability and utility of the breed.
– To conduct each year a licensed specialty show and obedience trial under the rules of the American Kennel Club.
– To obtain publicity and support legislation beneficial to the best interest of the dog breeders and owners.

We are a group of people with an interest in digging, planting, and maintaining. We come together from the blighted thumb to the “Miracle Gro” Goddess. We gather to share information on garden-related topics.
Our goal is to inform, motivate, and inspire one another to create beauty in our own surroundings – therefore making a contribution to our neighborhoods and communities in making our corners of the world a lovelier place. We are not a federated club. No dues, no sponsors, we are inclusive that all are welcome to be a part of our group.

The purpose of the Gretchen Brandt Foundation is to honor Gretchen’s memory by providing equipment, supplies, and/or assistance to children to help them learn and grow. Many projects have included the special needs population, but all children will be included. This fund was established to carry on Gretchen’s legacy and ‘Never Quit’ attitude in all she encountered. Helping young children is something that was important to her.

The purpose of this Fund shall be to support the efforts of the Donor to establish a fund that will provide gifts, toys, learning materials and tools to sick or injured children in local and regional hospitals to brighten their lives, not only during the Holiday Season but at other times during the year. It is the donor’s intent to also reach out to other needy children from time to time if funding and materials are available to do so.
